The Graduation Dates have been set!  Here they are:

Monday, June 10, 2024:  Foran HS, 5:15 p.m.

Tuesday, June 11, 2024: Law HS, 5:15 p.m.

The dates for the Academy, and our 3 Middle Schools have not been set yet; stay tuned!

Monday, 4/15: Public Hearing, Board of Aldermen Budget Meetings to Begin, April 15th; 5:30 p.m.

The Board of Aldermen has released its Budget Review Schedule – the final phase of this very important process for all of us living and working in Milford.  The first step of this process with the Aldermen is the one-and-only PUBLIC HEARING, to be held on Monday, April 15th.  Start time is 5:30 and will take place at City Hall.  All residents may offer their comments on the City and Education Operations budgets.  Here’s the FULL SCHEDULE for the BOA Budget Review over the next several weeks.


Wednesday, 4/17: Education Budget to be Presented, City Hall, 7:00 p.m.

Two days later, on Wednesday, April 17th, the BOA will hear the Education Operations Budget Presentation, delivered by BOE Chair Susan Glennon, and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Anna Cutaia.  If you are curious about the many facets of the BOE Budget (what’s included, rationale for requests made and more), then this is the meeting you will want to attend.  All are welcome.  Mark your calendars now.

Saturday, 4/20: Earth Day Events Coming Next Saturday

Celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 20th and enjoy the many activities that have been organized for the day.  Simply visit the Milford Public Library and the Fowler Park area to enjoy hula hoops, mini-horses, forage for wild edibles, learn about Long Island Sound, visit the NOAA ‘touch a tank’ and more! Beginning 4/22: Milford’s 2024 Bulk Trash Pickup Schedule – Time to do a little spring cleaning!

The City of Milford has released the Spring 2024 Bulk Trash Pickup Schedule. Here’s your chance to reclaim some of that space in your attic or basement or garage!!  Please keep in mind there are some restrictions to how/what you can place at the curb.  To read all the details, click HERE. In the meantime, here’s the schedule so you can begin planning:

If your normal Garbage Day is Monday:  then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, April 22

If your normal Garbage Day is Tuesday: then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, April 29

If your normal Garbage Day is Thursday: then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, May 6

If your normal Garbage Day is Friday: then your Bulk Pickup will BEGIN on Monday, May 13

Jay Rowe’s ‘Smooth Jazz for Scholars’ Benefit Concert Slated for April 19th, 20th

It’s almost here!  The Jay Rowe ‘Smooth Jazz for Scholars’ benefit concert is NEXT Friday and Saturday – don’t miss out on this world-class concert experience. In addition to the concert, make sure you visit the Raffle Basket table. All of the donated baskets come from our PTA/PTO school chapters and all of the funds from the raffle go to the MPS music department, as well. Concert Tickets are going fast – so we urge you to get yours as soon as possible.  Tix: $50 for one night; $85 for both. This event is a bit down the road, (and we’ll remind you as we get closer) – but this one is too good to pass by!  Make sure you mark your calendar for an Evening Under the Stars!  Attendees will enjoy a planetarium show (4 show times to choose from), kids activities, music, food trucks, a raffle, and much more.  Tix are $10. MEF to Host Annual Yankee Game Bundle – Game is Sunday, 5/5, 1:30 p.m. start; Deadline to purchase tix is 4/25

The Milford Education Foundation has been a wonderful partner to the Milford Public Schools, raising funds through events to provide a variety of programs for us.  Let’s return the favor by taking in a Yankee’s Game on Sunday, 5/5 (1:30 start) against the Detroit Tigers – Tickets are $78 and include your seat (in section 306), a Yankees backpack, and a $20 Meal Voucher.  To order – purchase your tickets ONLINE.  Here’s the FLYER for more.


July 8-12th: Hamden Hall Offers STEM Camp Opportunities; Limited Spots Available

Here’s a wonderful opportunity for students entering Grades 5-8 who enjoy challenging themselves with hands-on activities in the STEM fields.  This week-long enrichment program (July 8th – 12th, 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.) is fully funded (FREE) by Hamden Hall (1108 Whitney Ave, Hamden) and students will immerse themselves in experiential learning as they participate in lab work, collaboration, and make discoveries in the areas of DNA technology, forensics, cryptography, coding, rocketry, chemistry, and more.  Deadline to apply is May 17th and space is limited. DOWN THE ROAD:  Tuesday, May 21: Blast Off to Summer Reading

Mark your calendars! In order to prepare our elementary students for their Summer Reading efforts, the Milford Public Schools and the Milford Public Library are teaming up to present ‘Blast Off to Summer Reading!’  The event will be held at the Library, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., and include games, literacy activities, summer reading program info, and other fun times!  FLYER.
