Friday, 3/15: TONIGHT!!! Electrify Your Choir! ‘Once in a Lifetime’ Event
2 Shows: 5th/6th Graders @ 5:00 p.m. and 7th/8th Graders @ 7:30 p.m., Tix required
The Parsons Complex will be hoppin’ tonight as more than 500 MPS students enrolled in chorus/choir classes (Grades 5-8) will be ROCKIN’ the house with their ELECTRIFY YOUR CHOIR performances. Professional instruction masters Laura Kaye and Nathan Blake will lead students on a journey that focuses on vocal technique, movement, and how to incorporate energy into their performances. Two shows will take place: 5:00 (for Gr. 5-6 performers) and 7:30 (for Gr. 7-8 performers). Can’t wait!!
Parent Teacher Conferences Next Week: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
The Spring Session of our Parent Teacher Conference schedule will take place next week. To prepare for your appointment, we suggest you write down the questions you might have in advance to enhance the time you have with your child’s teacher/s. Here’s a few tidbits connected to our conference schedule as a reminder:
- Early Dismissal for ALL Students: Wednesday, (3/20) and Thursday, (3/21)
- Early Dismissal for ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ONLY: Friday, (3/22)
- Early Dismissal is 10 minutes earlier than ‘normal’ early dismissal (Elementary 1:15 p.m.; Middle 12:35 p.m.; Law/Foran 11:48; Academy - no change). This only happens during Parent Conference scheduling each year.
Wednesday, 3/20: Board of Finance Budget Vote, City Hall, 5:30 p.m.
The final step in the Board of Finance’s work on the City/Education Budget Recommendations will take place on Wednesday, 3/20 at City Hall. Meeting start time is 5:30 p.m. After many weeks of reviewing the budget proposals for each of our city agencies and the school district, the board will vote on their recommendations for funding for the 2024-2025 Budget. All are welcome to attend and hear what the Board decides. To prepare, here are the links to the MAYOR’S PROPOSED BUDGET and the BOARD OF EDUCATION’S PROPOSED BUDGET. Hope to see you there.

Milford Prevention Council Community Survey: All Are Welcome to Provide Input
REMINDER: the Milford Prevention Council is hoping to gain as much insight as possible from the community at large about substance abuse, underage drinking, vaping, and mental health concerns affecting youth in the Milford community. 36th Annual Mayor’s Youth Award Nominations Sought – Deadline to Submit is April 2nd
We are pleased to share the information for this time-honored celebration in our wonderful city: The 36th Annual Mayor’s Youth Awards. Each year, we have the opportunity to recognize the good works of Milford’s young people.
